Abstract: Right ventricular restrictive physiology (RVRP) occurs in diverse clinical scenarios, most frequently after repair of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) can comprehensively evaluate RVRP using 4D flow along with anatomical and fibrosis characterization. Also, RVRP is associated with less pulmonary regurgitation and fewer right ventricle enlargement; its long term protective role is debated. RVRP is a challenging and relevant diagnosis, which hallmark is the presence of antegrade pulmonary arterial Flow in late diastole throughout the respiratory cycle. Also, other hemodynamic findings could aid such us flow in; caval veins, suprahepatic, coronary sinus and tricuspid valve. Obtaining all these flow curves is virtually impossible by echocardiography. CMR with 4DF is a unique and powerful technique enabling this comprehensive hemodynamic evaluation as depicted in this case.

Harvesting residues of main forest species of northwestern Spain were characterized as biofules based on their heating value and ashes content. The studied species showed significant differences in their anhidrous Higher Heating Value (HHV). They were grouped in four groups from highest to lowest HHV: P.pinaster, P. radiata , P. sylvestris y B. celtyberica >A. melanoxylon, S. atrocynerea, P. avium y P. euramericana >E. globulus, F. sylvatica, F. excelsior y Q. robur > C. sativa y A. pseudoplatanus. Based on their lower heating value at a moisture of 25%, the seven first species would be appropriate for the production of A1 quality chips. At a moisture content of 10%, only the five first species would be appropriate for A1 pellet production. Based on their ashes content, the forest residues of most of the analyzed species could be used for the production of A2 or B quality chips and pellets.

Los residuos de cosecha las principales especies forestales del Noroeste de España fueron caracterizados como biocombustible en base a su poder calorífico y contenido de cenizas. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en el poder calorífico superior anhidro (PCS) de las especies estudiadas, distinguiéndose cuatro grupos, de mayor a menor PCS: P.pinaster, P. radiata , P. sylvestris y B. celtyberica >A. melano-xylon, S. atrocynerea, P. avium y P. euramericana >E. globulus, F. sylvatica, F. excelsior y Q. robur > C. sativa y A. pseudoplatanus. En base a su poder calorífico neto a una humedad de 25%, las siete primeras especies serían aptas para la producción de astillas A1. A una humedad del 10%, sólo las cinco primeras especies seríian aptas para la producción de péllet A1. Según su contenido de cenizas, los restos forestales de las especies analizadas serían aptas para la producción de astillas o pélets de categoría A2 o B.

The case of a 71-year-old woman who presented with one year history of pelvic pain and occasional dysuria is reported. Computed tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging revealed a well defined intramural bladder mass. The histological findings of the surgical specimen confirmed a leiomyoma of the urinary bladder. The clinical presentation, imaging findings and management of this relatively rare benign tumor are discussed.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the likelihood of Latino day laborers being solicited for sex by other men. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 450 Latino day laborers were recruited in Los Angeles, California, from July to September 2005. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine which day laborers were more likely to be solicited and subsequently to have sex. RESULTS: Thirty-eight percent reported being solicited for sex by another man while seeking work. Those solicited were more likely to live longer in the US, be more educated and screen positive for drug dependence. Of those solicited, 9.4% had sex with their solicitors. Those screening positive for drug dependence were more likely to have sex. Most of the day laborers who had anal sex with their solicitors did not always use condoms. CONCLUSIONS: HIV prevention efforts should target drug dependent day laborers, who may place themselves at risk for HIV through sex with male solicitors.

OBJETIVO: Examinar hasta qué punto los jornaleros latinos son solicitados por otros hombres para tener relaciones sexuales. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Cuatrocientos cincuenta jornaleros latinos fueron reclutados en Los Ángeles, California, de julio a septiembre de 2005. Un análisis de regresión logística fue utilizado para determinar cuáles jornaleros tenían más probabilidades de que fueran solicitados y, subsecuentemente, de que tuvieran sexo. RESULTADOS: Treinta y ocho por ciento reportaron que fueron solicitados para sexo por otros hombres mientras buscaban trabajo. Estos hombres que fueron solicitados tenían más probabilidades de haber vivido más tiempo en los Estados Unidos, tener más educación formal y dar resultados positivos en dependencia de drogas. De los solicitados, 9.4% tuvieron sexo con los solicitadores. Aquellos que dieron resultados positivos para dependencia de drogas tenían más probabilidades de tener sexo. La mayoría de los jornaleros que tuvieron sexo anal con los solicitadores no siempre usaron condón. CONCLUSIONES: Esfuerzos de prevención del VIH deben dirigirse a jornaleros dependientes de drogas quienes pueden estar exponiéndose al riesgo de contraer VIH al tener sexo con solicitadores masculinos.
